Why this 'feel bad' factor when someone shows our ugly side as in "slum dog...", "White Tiger", etc.? These people are only portraying realty of which the ugly side always makes more interesting story or news. I would like to see more such movies made and books written, so that the 'chalata hai' attitude that most Indians harbour may change out of shame. Our educated and middle class does not even bother to vote or take any interest in 'dirty' politics. Unless this middle class wakes to the reality and does their duty as a citizen, nothing is going to change by moaning and groaning.

This Blog and many similar are wonderful initiatives, but what is needed is right minded people coming together and taking active part in Government/politics at all levels. I would encourage everyone to look at http://freedomteam.in
and http://www.youtube.com/user/FreedomTeamofIndia?gl=IN&hl=en-GB and actively participate in the FTI Initiative. Also buy and read "Breaking Free of Nehru" by Sanjeev Sabhlok (http://www.sanjeev.sabhlokcity.com/breakingfree.html)" Sanjeev provided perfect remedy for our ills and also shows the way forward.

the day we decide to own up that we are a country that has various facets to it, the slum dog and outsourced version is as much a reality as the Indian Inc version, as the great indian civilisation version. the message we need to as a mass be able to take across is we are not perfect however we are not only 'imprefect'....and i guess we are somewhere feeling resourcesless in mobilising our journey towards 'perfection'

It is high time we stop taking pride in our slums and hardship filled lives. Another example of india shown in the bad light in hollywood films is the ercently released film " Outsourced".
India has much more to boast of than our slums and lets not go gaga over hollywood directors on their realistic potrayal of India because they show only one side of reality and not the other one...
