The first initiative that needs to be taken to change this goverment is that it should be run with the help of young people and not only people who are old and not ready to change. The youth has to awaken and take this up as a resposibility. And anyone who wants to make a move like this can only be supported by the youth of our country. only then we will begin to make a change to our system.

Hi Ritesh,

One thing we need "CHANGE"....how & When needs to be plan & prepare.
Also there is a big need to check all our current politicians for -:
1) Income status before & after joining politics.
2) If in govt sector peon is graduate than what should be the minimum educational criteria for a person to become politician.
3) In case an IAS/IPS/IFS needs to report them than the TEST criteria should be much much difficult.
4) Also the biggest position like President should be an active one.
5) Our Defence Minister & Home minister should have service the ARMED Forces/Police services atleast for a period of 10-12 years
6) As of now our PM is good & I consider him very honest hence no comment on him. He is the only "lotus" in dirty pond.
7) Retirement age????

Few more points can be added....

Regards,

Sumit

Hi Ritesh,

Congratulations on making a move. I think the movement has already begun. There are more people like you talking about changing the system. Some like you are taking steps like this to bring about that change.

There's a group meeting in Pune soon to discuss options around how we can take online activism, offline. It is however focused on social change rather than political change. I believe that social change can force the political system & it's inhabitants to change!

Do I believe that all of our politicians need replacing?
Do I unequivocally believe that the replacements will be able to do a better job?
My answer to both questions is No.

We do have some good guys amongst the current lot. Guys like Dr. Manmohan Singh (but he isn't a politician!).
Will the new lot prove to be incorruptible? I really doubt it!

I'm not for a moment saying what you're suggesting isn't a worthy option. It is worth examining, worth trying, like every idea is. But absolutes don't exist in our World. And extremes are tinged with danger.
Newer parties have come & gone, or proven to be worse!

This will require a greater think. Social reform, education & awareness @ semi-urban & rural levels may help.
